“FRIENDS OF THE CHAKMAS” or FOTC
is a global initiative to campaign for support and solidarity of the Chakma people.
It is an effort by people from all over the world to help, defend and spread
awareness about the various causes of the Chakmas and to help them preserve their identity.
Our activities are aimed at campaign and publicity to let the world know about
the suffering of the Chakmas, and to express solidarity to their woes. FOTC expresses solidarity to the continued struggle
for their rights in Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) of Bangladesh; their peaceful movement for citizenship rights
in India’s northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh;
and the various other human rights related issues that grip them.
